The train on the mountain

The historic Rittner Bahn train

From one village to the next and all across the sunny Ritten plateau, it is nothing short of pleasant to chug along on the Rittner Bahn train. Beginning its activity in 1907 and the last of its kind in South Tyrol, it reminds us of the not so distant past and history as it once was lived. The Belle Époque comes to life amidst a backdrop of the most beautiful mountain scenery as you gently sway back and forth on your journey across the sunny plateau.

The railway Ritten is in operation all year round. It connects the villages of Klobenstein and Oberbozen as well as Maria Himmelfahrt.
