Big plans were in store for this small village during the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s rule: at 1,300 metres asl, Oberinn’s mild climate and pristine air quality were considered beneficial to health and recovery, making it the ideal location to establish a medical retreat. Plans for the retreat were never realised, but the pleasant climate and wind-protected location didn’t go anywhere. Today you can still enjoy Oberinn’s relaxed mountain village atmosphere and magnificent views, and with some of the most beautiful hikes on Ritten, you are sure to find your piece of restorative energy from this part of the sunny plateau.
