In addition to the tradition of the Sommerfrische, the sunny Ritten plateau has long been known for its promenade strolls. Even Sigmund Freud was an enthusiastic fan of the most leisurely of sports one can enjoy here on Ritten, and he too enjoyed relaxing strolls through forests and meadows, and was captivated by the breath-taking panoramic views of the South Tyrolean mountains. Today numerous promenades and walking paths still exist, gently guiding you through the magnificent nature of Ritten and into your own little universe of bliss.

Promenade Fennaround the Fenn The Fenn Promenade from Klobenstein to Lengmoos is an incredibly beautiful mountain walk. From the railway station, take on the left no. 24 to the centre of Klobensteín and then walk eastward to the Zentral carpark where the ascent to the Fenn promenade begins. The route circles around the Fennbühel hill to the east. Then you keep to your right no. 20 and continue onwards until you come to the viewing platform, a wonderful spot to stop off for a breather. A plaque at this platform commemorates the opening of the promenade in 1898. Continuing onwards, in the shade of mixed woodland, you come to a hill with a view over the earth pyramids. The trail then crosses the slope and merges with the wide promenade trail at Lengmoos at the Amtmann, which leads left towards Klobenstein and, from there to the train station.Read more- Panoramic map with hiking tips (PDF) - 6.29 MB
